Assigning of the most important city award “11. Januar” 11.01.2013. National Theatre in Niš

Faculty of Arts in Nis is the winner of "11th January Award", the highest recognition of the City of Nis. The prize, which is awarded for achievements to help promote the city in the arts, commerce, science, medicine, journalism, education and sports, was awarded on 11th January 2012 at a ceremony at the National Theatre in Nis. "The Commission's decision has been adopted unanimously. All winners have a prominent place in our city, but the respectability of individuals and institutions who have nominated the winners were taken into account" Mr Mile Ilic, MA , the President of the City Hall of Niš. Thanking for the award the Dean of the Faculty, prof. Suzana Kostić, PhD, ended her addressing the audience with the words: "In the years ahead we will try to beautify our city with much more vigor and enthusiasm and make it better, and I am sure that we will overcome your expectations."

Ten years of the Faculty of Arts in Niš

Faculty of Arts in Niš celebrated 10th anniversary on Monday, December 3rd 2012. On that occasion, the ceremony was organized at the Faculty of Arts Concert Showroom, at 1 pm. The celebration of this important date was marked with the most important achievements of professors and students and their awarding with for the first time established rewards of the Faculty.

11 years of the Faculty of Arts in Niš / NTV 13.12.2013.

Central Celebration and the Ceremony were held on 3rd December 2013 at the National Theatre in Niš. The opening of the exhibition of professors from the Faculty of Arts was held at 7 pm in the lobby of the National Theatre, when the annually awards and plaques were handed. At 8 pm the operetta Die Fledermaus was performed at the National Theatre.

The First National Scientific Conference with the International participation – Balkan Art Forum 2013

Faculty of Arts in Niš organized the First National Scientific Conference with the international participation - Balkan Art Forum Niš 2013 on the topic ART AND CULTURE TODAY (11th and 12th October 2013.). Forum aims to gather artists, pedagogues, theorists, researchers and practitioners whose ideas, innovations and research in the field of art and their specific proposals would encourage the promotion of artistic and pedagogical theory and practice.

Operetta "The Bat" - Johann Strauss /The appearance on the stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade / April 28th, 2014.

Operetta Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, in the performance of the Faculty of Arts in Niš and the National Theatre in Niš appeared on the stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade on Monday, 28th April 2014, at 7:30 pm. The successful performing of the operetta audience has rewarded with the standing ovations and a long applause. The project Strauss' operetta Die Fledermaus is an outstanding contribution of professors and students of the Faculty of Arts in Nis to the restoration of the opera scene in Niš after the period of more than 60 years. Enclosure and editing: Sonja Urošević, video, Marko Micić

The Exhibition of the students and professors at the Gallery of Students, City Cultural Centre, Belgrade / 5-16th March 2013, The report in the TV show Beokult (Radio Television Serbia 2, 13th March 2013)

The opening ceremony of the exhibition of works of teachers, associates and students (I and II grade of a study program Graphic Design) of Faculty of Arts in Nis was held on Tuesday, 5th March 2013, in the gallery of the Student city House of Culture in Belgrade. The exhibition lasted until 16th March 2015. "The exhibited works are the result of the efforts of students to improve their knowledge of the visual field, and transpose evident in the personal view of the problem and its structure, which is a solid foundation for mastering the program of main subjects in senior years of study." The Concert season of the Faculty of Arts in Nis 2014 was officially opened on 8th March 2014, by already traditional concert revue "A gift to the ladies".  At the concert performed Faculty professors and students exclusively of the male gender as a gift to the ladies, from the Faculty and also the city of Niš, on the occasion of Women's Day.

Charity musical marathon and the graphics exhibition of students of the Faculty of Arts 2014

The first in a series of humanitarian actions began with the musical marathon and the graphics exhibition of the students from the Faculty of Arts in Niš, on May 17th 2014. The Faculty of Arts plans to continue throughout the year with a number of activities aimed at raising funds to help the flood-affected population. Collected donations will be sent to the bank account of the Government of Serbia to help the flooded areas.

The opening of the annual exhibition of students’ works of the Department of Fine Arts and the Department of Applied Arts / Friday, June 06th 2014, at the premises of the Department of Fine Arts (Art School in Niš, Prvomajska Street, No. 6) at 12 pm, and at the premises of the Department of Applied Arts (Primary school Njegoš, Pantelejska Street, No. 60) at 1:30 pm. The exhibition will be open on June 20th 2014.

DIPLOMA 2014 – The exhibition of Master degree students at the Department of Visual Arts / Friday, June 6th, 2014, Pavilion at the Fortress 

The exhibition DIPLOMA 2014 of Students at the Master’s degree programs of the Department of Visual Arts of the Faculty of Arts in Niš was officially opened at the Pavilion at the Fortress on Friday, June 6th 2014, at 7 pm. "DIPLOMA 2014, the exhibition of the generation of students at the academic master study program - Painting includes the works of eight authors who have gained their professional experience at the Faculty of Arts in Niš. In spite of the diversity of visual poetics, these young artists retain the traditional research of images as the means of media. Landscape, figuration and still life appear as the dominant theme headings in their work." Katarina Đorđević, MA

DIPLOMA 2014 – The exhibition of Master degree students at the Department of Applied Arts / July 11-21st,2014, The Gallery of Nis Cultural Center

The exhibition of students at the Master degree program of the Department of Applied Arts at the Faculty of Arts, entitled DIPLOMA 2014 was officially opened on Friday, 11th July 2014, at 8 pm at the Gallery of Niš Cultural Center. Co-organizer of the exhibition is the Niš Cultural Center. The Faculty of Arts in Niš, Department of Applied Arts, for the third time has been exhibiting the works of the students at the Master studies. They are the result of their successful five-year artistic research during the studies, through which they have developed, each according to their own sensibility, individual interest in specific areas of graphic design, whether it is graphic communications, poster or spatial graphics.

prof. dr Dimitrije Bužarovski - "Niš years"

Prof.dr Dimitrije Bužarovski, a full professor of the Faculty of Music Art, University of "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, and a visiting professor of the Faculty of Arts in Niš, was awarded with the honorary doctorate of the University of Niš by the Rector of the University of Niš, prof.dr Dragan Antić, at a ceremony held on June 10th, 2015 in the Great Hall of the University on the occasion of 50th anniversary of the University of Niš. The honorary PhD of the University of Niš, professor Bužarovski displayed a video performance entitled NIŠ years, in which his cooperation with the Faculty of Arts in Niš has been presented. The awarding ceremony was enriched by a rich artistic program performed by the professors and students of the Faculty of Arts.
