TRADITIONAL AESTHETIC CULTURE X: MEDIA

After examining the aesthetic dimensions of the house (2005), everyday life and holidays (2006), the body and clothing (2007), bread (2008), game (2009), eros (2010), the garden (2011), crafts (2013), space (2014), within the project The traditional aesthetic culture of Serbs, the participants of the symposium will focus their attention on the problems of traditional and contemporary aesthetic culture within the civilization of mass and network MEDIA, which significantly constitute all dimensions of our living world: work, moral, religious activities, science and philosophy, leisure, entertainment, game, sport, art, manner, standard and quality of everyday life ... At the time of media, substantive changes happen in the sphere of human creativity and receptivity, and the changes in the aesthetic dimension could reach the rank of anthropological phenomenon. Therefore, the participants will, in their statements and discussion, from different theoretical and methodological perspectives, attempt to elucidate the influence of the media sphere on changes in the being of aesthetic, personal, group (generational, cultural, educational, national ...) and antropological plan, with full awareness of a significant effect on all levels of re-constituting and re-constructing of traditional and modern identity, to the extent that a question can be posted on the status and future of aesthetics and the mere sensuality of man as a spiritual, but always sensual-instinctual being. The point of these forums is not only in an effort to explain and understand current and upcoming changes but that - from understanding - prepare even adequate conceptions of educational, cultural and scientific policy.
