IVAN JELIĆ

IVAN JELIĆ graduated at the Faculty for Music Art in Belgrade with Ljubiša Petruševski. From 1975, he was a member of Niš Symophony Orchestra, as a principal oboist. He has also been performing as a member of the wind quintet and the chamber trio with whom he had many successful performances across Serbia. One of his greatest achievements was the first prize at the International soloist competition in Langolen (Great Britain) in 1977. He has collaborated with renowned conductors (M. Jagušt, S.Šepić, S. Zaninović, J. Ferik, V. Čavdarski, P. Petrovski, R.Milosavljević). Apart from the work with symphony orchestras, he has been teaching oboe and chamber music. His students have won numerous prizes at the festivals and national competitions. Jelić has been working as a director of the city chamber orchestra “Carica Teodora”, performing with renowned artists Ljubiša Jovanović, Ištvan Varga, Vladimir Valjarević, Dragan Lazić. Currently, he has been a professor of chamber music at the Faculty of Arts in Niš.
